Register for youth baseball

FLINT TWP. — Registrations are being taken for the Carman-Ainsworth Youth Baseball League. Friday, April 21 is the deadline for youngsters ages 7-16 who will play May 30- June 20 on Tuesday and Thursday at the middle school. The cost is $90 for helmet and pants. For younger children, ages 3-6, the T-Ball registration deadline is Friday, April 28. The cost is $40. Shredding day coming

FLINT TWP. — It is time to start gathering up your confidential papers to be turned into confetti on Township Shredding Day. In recent years, a special shredding truck has come in twice a year, in the spring and fall, to shred confidential documents. Each resident is allowed to bring two boxes of papers. The truck will be located in the parking lot of the township administrative building at 1490 S. Dye Road, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 6. — R.S.

Sign up for Habitat Olympics

FLINT TWP. — Registration is now open for the 8th annual Habitat for Humanity Olympics to benefit the affordable house-building organization. Teams of five are signing up to participate in construction themed games such as Painter’s Putty, Toilet Toss, Bean Bag House Throw and Ladder ball. There also will be a silent auction, drywall raffle and prize wheels. The cost is $250 per team $50 per person). The event will be held on Friday, May 5 at Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, 4100 S. Church hosting comedy show

FLINT TWP. — Tim Hawkins, a Christian comedian and singer known for offbeat standup routines and popular song parodies, will perform live at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at t Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road. Since giving up his job as a grocery truck driver in 2002, Hawkins has been establishing himself as one of the most in-demand comedians in the country, with 300,000,000 video views online and over 100 sold-out concerts every year, according to his published bio. Fun event at district library

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township- McCarty Library will present Turn Your Treasures into Cash on April 27 at 6:30 p.m. Guests will learn how to mine their own home for sellable items to make extra money using eBay and other e-commerce sites. — R.S.
