New C-A Schools partnership will provide youth health services

FLINT TWP. — Carman- Ainsworth Community Schools has formed a new partnership with the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS) at Michigan Medicine that will offer fully comprehensive health services to school age youth throughout the community, according to a press release.

Beginning in July. the program, housed at Carman-Ainsworth High School, will serve as an expansion of students’ existing medical care. It will provide physical and mental health services, along with support and education on matters ranging from insurance to wellness and prevention.

“This partnership will help us continue to provide support for students and families that are truly aligned with our district mission,” said Carman-Ainsworth Superintendent Eddie Kindle. “This opportunity will also reinforce our efforts to keep our students in school as we work with great diligence to meet the individual needs of each and every student.”

This partnership aligns with the district’s continued commitment to the health and well-being of students and the community. It is provided at no cost to the district. Services will be available to school-age youth within the Carman- Ainsworth school district and community at large. RAHS provides services for uninsured and insured patients.

“The Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools at Michigan Medicine has operated our current school-based health centers for 21 years,” said Angie Spence, Director of RAHS at Michigan Medicine. “We function as an extension of the extraordinary services that are being offered in the community by joining efforts to eliminate access barriers for patients and families and to support the culture of wellness in the Carman-Ainsworth school district.”
