Community Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday

Photo by Rhonda Sanders FLINT TWP. — Parents with children up to age 12 are invited to hop on over to the township park, 5200 Norko Drive, March 10, starting at 10:30 a.m. for the inaugural Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in partnership with Genesee Valley Center and support from numerous local businesses.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand to welcome the children. Volunteers will hide more than 6,500 eggs containing prize slips redeemable for gift cards, gift baskets and other local entertainment.

The Egg Hunts will be staged in four age groups:

Children up to three; four to six year-olds, 7-9 year-olds and 10-12 year-olds.

After the hunt, families are invited to come over to the mall to visit the Easter Bunny at Center Court and enjoy light refreshments.

Township Trustee Carol Pfaff-Dahl, an EDC member, who spearheaded the event said she has received generous donations and many valuable prizes offered by local businesses. Those include Patsy Lou Auto, Dort Federal Credit Union, the West Flint Business Association, Security Credit Union, Swartz Creek Chamber of Commerce, Fox 103.9, Fick Landscape, Nash FM, CK 105.5, Remax Jim Miller and New Wok Gourmet

The Egg Hunt is the first of other community events being planned by the EDC. A Christmas Holiday Walk at the park is also being discussed.
