FLINT TWP. — The township board has approved about $300,000 in road milling and paving projects for the 2018 construction season.

Based on estimates provided by the Genesee County Road Commission (GCRC), the approved projects include Judd Road, Ashlawn Drive and Knollridge Lane, as recommended by the township Road Advisory Committee. All are in the vicinity of Maple and VanSlyke roads.

Township Supervisor Karyn Miller also said she plans to seek estimates from ACE Asphalt, hoping to get a better price and stretch the budget to do more roads.

The GCRC cost estimate for a paving overlay on Judd Road from Bristolwood Drive to Charter Oaks Drive is $$35,161. Additional shoulder work on the same stretch is estimated to cost $1,815.

Milling and paving on Judd from Van Slyke to Charter Oaks is estimated at about $73,658.

Milling and paving on Ashlawn from Peachwood Drive to Judd Road is estimated to cost about $73, 850.

Milling and paving on Knollridge Lane is estimated at about $47,330.

If additional funds become available, milling and paving work also is approved for Watch Hill Drive, Stony Ridge Road and Thrushfield Court at estimated costs of about $60,590 for Watch Hill and $42,110 each for Stony Ridge and Thrushfield.
