I ntegrity, courage and hard work. These are the values that the all new 2019 Ram 1500 pickup loaded up and rolled out at the 2018 North American International Auto Show Jan. 15 at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
In the forest of accolades used to describe new vehicle debuts, you can lose sight of what is important, said Mike Manley, head of the Ram brand for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV. “We will build our brand future on a clear set of values that mean something: integrity, courage and hard work. We will work to support these,” he said. It’s the truck’s first redesign since 2009.
Manley brought out all new Ram 1500 Limited, the 1500 Laramie and the 1500 Rebel at the show, emphasizing that another value clearly stands out for him, that being loyalty for the Ram truck brand.
The brand, he said, has the best loyalty record of any half ton pickup on the market, with volume growing from 195,000 (in 2009) to 570,000 in 2017.
The vehicle is available in quad and crew cab configurations, and offers a new 4×4 off road package. The 2019 Ram 1500 includes an impressive list of improvements: • Design is aerodynamic and fluid. • The truck is a half inch wider, yielding
10 percent more storage space. • 225 pounds lighter, with weight savings accomplished with high strength steel. Aluminum is available for the tailgate and hood. • 150 liters of internal storage volume – the most in its class, Manley said. • 3.6 liter V6 305HP Pentastar and
5.7 liter V8 395HP Hemi engines (a new Ram Eco diesel engine arrives in
2019) • 10 percent better mileage • A Harman Kardon sound systems with
19 speakers • 12-inch touch screen digital display
With 100-plus safety features, the Ram 1500 is being called the most technically advanced and enhanced truck ever sold by the brand.
