4 hospitalized after Jeep, motorcycle collide

MUNDY TWP. — Four people – two of whom were riding a motorcycle – were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash that appears to be linked to a fight at a popular Mundy Township tavern.

The fight involving multiple combatants occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday at Scooter’s Bar and Grill on Torrey and Hill roads.

While Metro officers were investigating the fight, a call went out for a personal injury accident about a half mile north on Torrey Road, said Detective Christine Lutz.

“It was later determined that the occupants in the crash were involved in the original fight,” she said.

Lutz did not know how many people were involved in the fight and would not comment on how it started.

The crash occurred when a Jeep collided with a motorcycle in a residential area south of Maple Road, Lutz said. Both vehicles were northbound.

After the initial impact, the Jeep then went through a ditch and struck a motorhome that was parked in a yard.

Lutz would not release the ages or hometowns of the two occupants of the Jeep or the people on the motorcycle.

Once the investigation is complete, a report will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for review and consideration of charges.
