FLINT — The Sloan Museum Auto Fair committee has decided to restructure the 2020 show, in consideration of the health and safety of vehicle owners, vendors, employees, patrons and longtime sponsors.
The 48th annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair will not take place June 20-21. In lieu of the traditional show, a series of cruise-ins will be held in summer or fall, dates to be determined.
“Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation,” said General Chairman Thom Self. “We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event in our traditional way for our vehicle owners and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.”
Registration had already begun for the June event, and vehicle owners, vendors, and sponsors will be contacted directly to arrange refunds or apply funds to a future event. The special vehicle displays that were planned for the 2020 show will be held over until the 2021 show.
Two cruise-ins originally scheduled for June 18-19 are also postponed until later this summer or fall. Planning for later cruise-ins will take place when the Sloan Museum Auto Fair committee is able to convene again. For more information, visit SloanAutoFair.com. — G.G.
