We are in full swing with hiring for our seasonal positions here at Genesee County Parks & Recreation Commission and we are hoping you will join our team!

There are over 200 positions available with multiple opportunities for all interest and in multiple locations throughout the County. These positions are great for students, retirees or anyone looking for a first job or second income. With flexible hours, on the job training and a great work environment, it really is the best place in the County to work!

Here are just a few samples of positions we offer:

Crossroad Village -Dress in period costume and explain to the public what it was like to live in Genesee County in the 1880’s, work as a Brakeman or Conductor on the Railroad, operate the old printing presses in the Print Shop, grind flour in the Atlas Mill, work as a blacksmith or tinsmith, operate antique rides, be a sawyer at the steam powered sawmill or one of a dozen other jobs available at Crossroads Village. We’re especially in need of experienced carpenters to help us maintain and restore all of our old buildings!

Huckleberry Railroad – If you know someone who is thrilled with the thought of working the rails, a position with the Huckleberry Railroad may be just for them. We offer jobs running and maintaining our locomotives.

Maintenance – Do you enjoy being outside? A Genesee County Parks Maintenance position could be the perfect fit for you. Maintain park facilities on a daily basis throughout Genesee County.

Wolverine Campground – If you love camping, Campground Attendant is the job for you! Help with the daily maintenance and operations of Wolverine Campground while helping our park visitors make the best of their camping experience.

For Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum – Are you a people person who loves nature? Help deliver fun, nature based programming to park patrons. For-Mar is where you want to be.

Boat Launches – This position allows interaction with the public as well as nature. You will work with visitors, by collecting fees and issuing boat launch passes. A great opportunity for customer service experience.

The Mounds ORV Area – All things off road, all the time! ORV Specialists work with visitors at the Mounds by collecting fees, issuing permits and basic park maintenance.
