Accelerator Group 100K Ventures created to invest in Flint companies

FLINT — Flint’s unique, innovative entrepreneurial community has helped attract a new for-profit business accelerator to the city.

A new group called 100K Ventures has formed with the sole focus of investing in early-stage companies in Flint. Robert Wolf, founder of 32 Ventures, partnered with Phil Hagerman, the founder of Flintbased Skypoint Ventures, to launch the group, which is comprised of leaders in business, sports, entertainment and journalism from around the country.

“This is a special partnership that signals a belief in Flint. There is innovative, life-changing work taking place here every day, and the nation is taking notice,” said Hagerman. “Partnerships like this create even more opportunities for Flint’s entrepreneurs and innovators to uncover the next big idea. We’re grateful to Robert and the entire team for recognizing the incredible talent here in Flint.”

The group toured Skypoint’s Ferris Wheel building while in Flint, which is home to a unique entrepreneurial and coworking ecosystem.
