GRAND BLANC — The streak continues! Al Serra Chevrolet is one of only a handful of dealerships nationwide earning Chevrolet Dealer of the Year Award honors every year since its inception in 2000. And now, after receiving the award for a 17th straight time, the celebration of this amazing achievement is short lived.
“Of course, we are happy!” smiles Matt Serra, Executive Manager of the Al Serra Auto Plaza. “I am so proud to be working alongside a group of dedicated and talented people. But, just like in years past, we need to look forward to continue to look for ways to improve the customer experience. And, if we can accomplish that, everything else will just fall into place.”
According to Serra, the team concept of putting the customer first was put into practice when his grandfather first opened the doors at Al Serra Chevrolet in Grand Blanc back in 1973. It’s a tradition that was taken to the next level by his father, Joe Serra, and now the torch has been passed to a third Serra generation.
The Dealer of the Year program honors 60 Chevrolet dealers from across the country, 12 per region, based on exceptional performance in sales, service and customer satisfaction.

Dealers must demonstrate a long-term commitment by providing customers with exceptional service in their modern, worldclass facilities.
When you ask Serra about earning the award for 17 years in a row, he puts it all in perspective.
“The streak represents our level of commitment,” says Serra. “Day in and day out, our associates here at Al Serra pour their heart and soul into what they do. And as a result, our customers have chosen to reward us with their loyalty.”
In 2017, under Serra’s energetic leadership, Al Serra Chevrolet enjoyed one of the best 12-month periods in its 44-year history, selling 3,659 units. That achievement placed the Serra team 16th among Chevy dealerships nationwide.
