Al Serra Plaza adds Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram

GRAND BLANC — Serra Automotive, which currently ranks among the top 10 privately held automotive groups in the nation, has announced the purchase of Genesee Valley Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Flint Township.

Starting Jan. 30, Al Serra Chrysler- Dodge-Jeep-Ram will open at 8 a.m. for sales, parts and full service at Serra Automotive’s flagship location, the Al Serra Auto Plaza, located on South Saginaw in Grand Blanc.

“This is great news for our customers and all of Genesee County,” said Joe Serra, president of Serra Automotive. “With the addition of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, the Al Serra Auto Plaza literally will be a convenient one-stop shop for car buyers.”

Al Serra Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram will move into the building formerly housing Al Serra Cadillac, right in the heart of the Auto Plaza between Al Serra Chevrolet and Al Serra Buick-GMC.

“It’s the perfect location,” said Serra. “We’ll start construction in late March or early April to add a state-of-the-art service and parts department to the facility and, at the same time, we’ll also build a brand-new dedicated Cadillac showroom between our Buick-GMC and Kia stores.”

The schedule calls for both construction projects to be completed by the end of 2012. Until then the Cadillac franchise will operate out of the Al Serra Buick-GMC dealership.

“Thanks to our customers and the hard work and dedication of our entire team, we continue to grow,” said Serra. “We’re making the Al Serra Auto Plaza a destination for all of Michigan. Which is good for us of course, but it also bodes well for the future of our community.”

Currently the dealerships under the Al Serra Auto Plaza umbrella include Al Serra Chevrolet, Al Serra Cadillac, Al Serra Buick-GMC, Al Serra Chrysler- Dodge-Jeep-Ram, Honda of Grand Blanc and Kia of Grand Blanc. The Al Serra Auto Plaza also has one of the largest used vehicle operations in the nation.

All of these dealerships are part of the Serra Automotive network, headquartered in Grand Blanc. The network consists of 35 franchises in five states and employs more than 1,200 people. — G.G.
