— Summer is coming to a close, so it must be time again for the Michigan Renaissance Festival to return to the shire of Hollygrove.
The RenFest, entering its 31st year, will begin the weekend of Aug. 21-22 and will take place over every weekend through Oct. 3.
Located at 12600 Dixie Hwy. in Groveland Township, the Renaissance Festival will feature theme weekends and the usual festival attractions like jousting, entertainment and vendors.
The village of Hollygrove, home of the festival, is a festive marketplace filled with friendly merchants, games, entertainment, sword fighting, comedians, dancers and delicious food.
Hours for the festival are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The following are upcoming theme weekend:

Aug. 21-22 — Chili Cook-Off and wine tasting
• Highland Fling,
Aug. 28-29 — U.S. Canadian Highland Games, Celtic Village
• Buccaneer Beer Fest,
Sept. 4-6 — Beer Baron Brawl, micro beer tasting and pet fest.
• Wonders of the World,
Sept. 11-12 — Middle Eastern Dance Competition, World Market and wine tasting.
• Pirate’s High Seas
Sept. 18-19 — Bar B Q Competition and beer tasting
• Harvest Huzzah,
Sept. 25- 26 — Michigan wine tasting and long bow competition
• Sweet Endings,
Oct. 2-4 — Chocolate Taste and Michigan wine tasting.
Tickets are $19.95 for adults, $10.95 for children and student and senior tickets for $17.95. A season pass is $79.95 for adults and $42.95 for children.
