Amp It Up Team Sherry plans cornhole fundraiser for cancer institute

CLAYTON TWP. — Amp It Up Team Sherry will sponsor a cornhole tournament to raise money to bring comfort to people battling cancer.

The tournament will take place Saturday, Aug. 21, at The Draft Sports Bar & Grille. Registration begins at 1 p.m., bags fly at 2 p.m. There are two divisions: Social and Competitive.

The cost is $40 per two-person team for pre-registration in the Social division, or $50 at the door. For the Competitive division, the cost is $60 per two-person team for preregistration, or $70 at the door.

Teams may pre-register via email at midmichiganbaggers@gmail.com. Send “Amp It Up” your name, team name and division. Payment is cash or Venmo @Shawn Woods 87.

After cash payouts, all proceeds will go to benefit patients receiving treatment at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute. Event organizers Andrea Moleski and Keri Sands lost their mother, Sherry Lord Czerwinski, to cancer in 2013.

“We continue to provide comfort to those battling cancer at local treatment centers,” said Moleski.

During the tournament, there will be bucket specials, shot specials, raffles and music.

Sponsors and raffle donations are still needed and appreciated. For more details, visit the Amt It Up – Team Sherry Facebook page.
