Annual four-day Save & Share event at Skaff

Furniture-Carpet One begins the Friday after Thanksgiving

FLINT — In what has become a holiday tradition, the 9th Annual Skaff Save & Share event will take place Nov. 27-30.

“Since our first Save & Share charity event in 2012, we’ve helped raise more than $130,000 for local charities thanks to our community’s enthusiastic support,”said Dick Skaff, Skaff Furniture-Carpet One President. “This year, as everyone is well aware, has presented some special challenges and the need is greater than ever.”

Once again, Skaff will be partnering with Carriage Town Ministries, Communities First, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and Whaley Children’s Center. Over the four-day period, 5 percent of each and every furniture and carpet purchase will go to assist these four outstanding organizations and the all-important work they do in our community.

Customers can choose the charity they would like to support, or, if they prefer, they can share their donation among all of them.

“During this four-day Save & Share celebration, we’re aggressively reducing prices in every department. And with people spending more time in their homes these days, this is a great time add a comfortable new recliner or cozy things up a bit with some new carpet. Especially when part of the money you spend goes to local charities helping people in need,” said Skaff. “Save & Share truly is a win-win for everyone!”

Also, according to Skaff, in light of the pandemic, extra precautions are being taken storewide, in the form of sanitizing surfaces, social distancing, mask-wearing and more to insure a safe and inviting environment.

“Our family is thankful for the loyalty and support we’ve received over our more than 100 years in business,” says Skaff. “Save & Share is just one way of giving back to the community that has given us so much.”

“We’ve been a Save & Share charity partner from the very beginning, and we are thrilled to be a part of it again in 2020,” says Kara Ross, President and CEO of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. “Words can’t begin to express what it means to be able to help put food on the table when so many people are struggling to provide for their families. Save & Share truly is a thanksgiving.”
