Annual Hurley Trauma Center Fall Golf Classic Sept. 10th

FLINT — The Hurley Foundation is once again set to host Annual Hurley Trauma Center Fall Golf Classic, which will be held at Flint Golf Club on Monday, Sept. 10 and will benefit Hurley Medical Center’s Level I Trauma & Burn Center, as well as Hurley Children’s Hospital’s Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. These proceeds allow Hurley to continue to provide the highest levels of trauma and burn care using the latest advancements to treat the most critically ill adults and children in our region around the clock.

The Hurley Trauma Center’s 34th Annual Fall Golf Classic, organized by the Hurley Foundation, is a perfect example of one of the Foundation’s many community events that bring people together to make a big difference. Golfers of varying skill levels gather each year in the name of a great cause, supporting the Hurley Foundation’s continued efforts to fund medical programs for the men, women and families of Genesee County.

Elizabeth Westrom-Williams, the Hurley Foundation Manager and Event Coordinator for the Fall Golf Classic Committee, is excited for this year’s event and the enthusiasm she has seen leading up to the annual outing.

“It’s amazing to see Hurley’s partners and great community come together to assist us in improving the health care in our region,” said Wenstrom-Williams. “The Hurley Foundation is continually awed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our business partners through participation in our Fall Golf Classic to support Hurley Medical Center’s Level I Trauma & Burn Center, the only one in the region and only 1 of 11 in Michigan with the highest certification verified by the American College of Surgeons, as well as Hurley Children’s Hospital’s Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only one in the Genesee/ Lapeer/Shiawassee tri-county area with the highest certification verified by the American College of Surgeons.”

The Hurley Foundation, which was first established in 1993, is committed to serving the surrounding community through fundraising and resource development, and has come to the aid of thousands of families throughout its history. The Foundation hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including the Annual Fall Golf Classic, each of which connects local businesses and individuals who are dedicated to helping Hurley meet its goals.

This year’s Fall Golf Classic will include two separate groups, with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. and another at 1 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a day of golf, entertainment, fellowship and fun in support of a worthy cause. Golfers will be in teams of four and will enjoy great food, contests and an all-day silent auction.
