Annual Save and Share event begins after Thanksgiving

FLINT — In what has become a holiday tradition, the 8th Annual Skaff Save & Share event will take place Nov. 29 through Dec 2.

“While it isn’t quite at the same anticipation level as turkey and pumpkin pie, our Save & Share charity event over the past eight years has received enthusiastic support and has become part of our community’s post- Thanksgiving celebration,” says Dick Skaff, Skaff Furniture-Carpet One President with a smile. “Thanks to our customers, Save & Share has helped raise more than $115,000 for our participating charities.”

Once again, Skaff will be partnering with Carriage Town Ministries, Communities First, the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and Whaley Children’s Center.

Over the four-day period, 5 percent of each and every furniture and carpet purchase will go to assist these four outstanding organizations and the all-important work they do in the community.

Customers can choose the charity they would like to support, or, if they prefer, they can share their donation among all of them.

“As an added incentive for people to stop by during the four-day celebration, we’re aggressively reducing prices in every department. We want this event to not only benefit our charities, but our customers as well,” said Skaff. “We’re doing everything possible to make this a winwin for everyone!”

To help generate extra excitement, customers will also have the opportunity to win a Serta I-Comfort queen-size mattress set, a Best recliner, room-size carpet remnants and more.

“Our family is thankful for the loyalty and support we’ve received over our more than 100 years in business,” says Skaff. “Save & Share is just one way of giving back.” “Save & Share gives the Thanksgiving holiday a little something extra,” says Kara Ross, President and CEO of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. “We’re thrilled to be a part of it. The generosity of the community and the Skaff family allows the Food Bank reach out to neighbors who are hungry and struggling to provide for their families this season.”
