Area golf enthusiasts raised thousands for Girl Scouting

DETROIT — The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan’s 16th annual Golf Classic Fore! the Girls successfully raised approximately $30,000 in support of Girl Scout programs and activities in southeast Michigan. The outing took place at Elks Club #222 in Grand Blanc Aug. 15.

“The FORE! the Girls Golf Classic has a history of raising funds for Girl Scouts for the past 16 years. It’s a great way to have fun and support the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan at the same time,” says Gerald McCarty II, chairman of the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan Golf Committee.

Event sponsors included McLaren Health Care; Peter and Danialle Karmanos, TCF Commercial Banking, Landaal Packaging Systems, Francine Parker, Hurley Hospital Foundation, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Genesee Foundation of Flint, Plaza One Financial Center, Arbor Oakland Group, Graphics East, and B&R Consultants. – L.P.
