Area kids experience teamwork, sportsmanship with YouthQuest

GENESEE COUNTY — Children from all over the county had the chance to get moving, experience teamwork and learn lessons in sportsmanship and social skills through the “Strikes and Spares” event held Feb. 12 at local bowling centers.

Sponsored by YouthQuest, the all-day event was held at B’s Bowling Center, Nightingale Lanes an Richfield Bowl. More than 1,800 students from the 15 YouthQuest schools participated in the event, bowling in three shifts. The YouthQuest program includes schools in the Carman-Ainsworth, Flint, Mt. Morris and Montrose school districts.

YouthQuest is a free after-school program for kindergarten through eighth grade students in Flint and Genesee County. The program is managed by the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce. For more information, visit www.yquest.org. Natalie Blythe
