Arrests made in drive-by shooting

FLINT TWP. — On Sunday, November 12 at approximately midnight, Flint Township Police officers responded to a drive-by shooting in the 3300 block of W. Dayton St. in the area of Lavelle Rd. and Pasadena Ave., according to a police report.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle with multiple occupants drove by the residence firing numerous rounds into the house. A resident at that address fired a gun back towards the suspect vehicle, striking the male driver, a 19-year-old City of Flint resident.

Despite being seriously injured, the driver of the suspect vehicle, drove to a residence in the 3100 block of Bertha St. in Mount Morris Township, before succumbing to his injuries. Mount Morris Township Police officers responded to that location, placing three occupants in custody and turning them over to Flint Township Police officers. These occupants, all 19-year-old men from the City of Flint, were later lodged in the Genesee County Jail. Additionally, the 17-year-old Flint Township resident who shot at the vehicle was also lodged in the Genesee County Jail.

Flint Township Police were assisted by the Genesee County Sheriff Department and the Michigan State Police Bridgeport Crime Lab.
