Art guild goes virtual while awaiting new storefront

SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild and Gallery are temporarily going virtual.

The guild has closed their gallery at the Centerpiece Plaza on Miller Road in downtown Swartz Creek, but they aren’t going away.

Guild members will continue to hold classes throughout the community, participate in area events, and offer art for sale by local artists on their website at

In addition to the website, keep an eye on the guild’s Facebook page at https:// and Instagram at @swartzcreekartguild for updates as they await their next home.

The guild also can be reached at the same phone number, (810) 630-6076, and by email at

“We would like to thank everyone for all the love and support you have shown us over the past 11 years,” said Mandy Lupu, gallery assistant. “You have been a huge part in keeping our doors open, and in the re-opening soon.

“We project being in a new space by the end of this year. Until then, we are pleased to offer paid and free classes courtesy of the Greater Flint Arts Council Share Art Genesee Grant Program.”

In addition to having art for sale, the guild will offer free coloring sheets of Swartz Creek attractions, drawn by Zophael Ray.

And, don’t miss the guild members at the Kiwanis Club of Swartz Creek’s annual Art in the Park on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Elms Park in Swartz Creek. — L.R.
