Art in the Park returns on June 5

FLUSHING — If it’s spring in Flushing, then it is time for the GFWC Flushing Women’s Club annual Art in the Park.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 5 and come to our beautiful Riverview Park located off Main Street in Flushing. Our show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As you stroll the aisles, you will find artist and crafters from all over the state with a wide variety of fine artwork in glass, wood, pottery, jewelry, painting and photography. You are sure to find a unique item for yourself or a gift for someone special on your list. You and your friends can also enjoy lunch from our food trucks while you listen to music from our DJ.

The Flushing Women’s Club donates and supports community organizations such as Flushing Outreach, Movies in the Park, Concerts in the Park and our public library, and we give scholarships to high school seniors. We also donate to several international organizations such as Operation Smile and USO/Support Military. All proceeds from our Art in the Park show and raffle of a 10-foot by 10-foot canopy tent will help us to continue our donations to benefit our community and the agencies dedicated to making the world a better place for all people. We look forward to having you stop by our tent and learn more about our club and hopefully purchase a raffle ticket.

Applications for artists and crafters are still available from the Flushing Women’s Club. Contact us by email at flushingwomensclub@gmail.com or visit our website. All artworks must be hand-made by the artist. No wholesale items will be accepted.

All social distancing and state-regulated restrictions for COVID 19 will be adhered to. Bring your friends and enjoy a relaxing and fun day in Flushing at Art in the Park. –Submitted by the GFWC Flushing Women’s Club.
