GENESEE COUNTY — The 61 primary care physicians and 17 advanced practice providers of Genesys Integrated Group Practice (GIGP) – one of the largest independent practices in Mid-Michigan – are now part of Ascension Medical Group in Michigan. This acquisition also includes three imaging centers, seven physical therapy locations and an urgent care clinic.
“The addition of GIGP creates a collaborative and strategic growth opportunity for Ascension Michigan as we become a more clinically integrated system of care,” said Kenneth Berkovitz, MD, President, Ascension Medical Group, Michigan Market. “This transition further integrates Ascension Michigan with the physician community across the region and state. We look forward to building on our coordinated network of care, so we can deliver the right care, in the right setting, at the right time.”
“GIGP and Ascension Medical Group share a Mission committed to improving the health of those we serve and the ability to enhance the patient experience through unparalleled coordination of care,” explained Jeffrey Arnold, DO, GIGP President and Chair, GIGP Board of Directors. “Our group of physicians and advanced practice providers are pleased to join Ascension Medical Group and further align our practice structure to deliver exceptional health outcomes, provide an outstanding patient experience and enhance the provider experience. We look forward to working with other Ascension Medical Group physicians and leaders focused on highly reliable, quality and safe care.”
Patients will not experience any disruption in care and services throughout this transition. All provider office locations, phone numbers and insurances accepted will remain the same. In addition, patients will continue to be seen by the same providers and associates who are committed to providing safe, high-quality and compassionate care. In the coming months, new signage will be introduced at all locations to identify the practices as part of Ascension Medical Group. — G.G.
