FLUSHING — For the second straight year, Flushing will welcome in classic car drivers and enthusiasts for a Back to the Bricks Tune-up Party at the Flushing A on 200 S. Cherry St.
The action will rev up on Aug. 10, starting around 5 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m.
On the same day, the Tune-up Party will kick off in Swartz Creek at 2 p.m. from the A-1 Treat Barn, 8541 Miller Rd. near Seymour Rd. At about 4:30, the festivities will shift to Flushing, with many classic car owners displaying their vehicles at both venues.
This year, organizers are working to arrange a parade of vehicles from Swartz Creek to Flushing, rather than just having drivers make the trip individually.
Attractions and activities will include 50’s, 60’s and 70’s themes, concessions, vendors, live music, dancing in the streets and giveaways. T-shirts distributed by ELGA Credit Union and Back to the Bricks gear will also be available for purchase.
Last year’s inaugural Tune-up Party in Swartz Creek and Flushing drew over 300 cars and hundreds of spectators to both locations.
Tune-up parties are also planned in Davison on Aug. 6; Clio on Aug. 7; Linden, Aug. 8; Fenton, Aug. 9; and Beecher and Mt. Morris on Aug. 11.
Back to the Bricks is entering its 14th year in downtown Flint, running from Aug. 14 to 18. View Newspaper Group is a proud sponsor of the event.
