BB/BS receives $20,000 through Art Van Charity Challenge

— Art Van Furniture Company will award $20,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint through the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge. The award will be among those presented to 50 charities throughout the state of Michigan.

Art Van Furniture annually awards one million dollars to various charities throughout the State of Michigan that focus on children, health and human services. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint is grateful for the critical financial support and commitment of Art Van.

“We are very appreciative to be a part of this great partnership with Art Van Furniture. These dollars represent our largest corporate donation and will enable Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint to continue to provide quality mentor trainings, background screenings, mentor and mentee recruitment efforts, and cultural, recreational and educational activities for high-risk and at-risk youth,” said Reta Stanley, president/CEO.

The focus of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint is to provide children, primarily from single parent homes, with the friendship of a positive role model. For 66 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been impacting thousands of children in Genesee County through its mentoring outreach and support.
