Beer tasting ‘on tap’at Flint Institute of Arts

FLINT — Applebee’s presents the 5th Annual “Art on Tap” Beer Tasting Event at the Flint Institute of Arts on Sept. 8 from 4-8 p.m. The FIA is pleased to announce Applebee’s as its Signature Sponsor for this year’s event.

Applebee’s has been in the Flint area for 18 years. The FIA is thrilled by Applebee’s generous contribution, one that will undoubtedly add to the continued success of this event.

The celebration will take place in the FIA’s South parking lot under a large tent and will feature more than 100 craft and imported brews with a sensational line up including Leninenkugel’s, Blue Moon, Samuel Adams, Henry Weinhard, Tenth and Blake, Arcadia, Heineken, Amstel Light, Tecate, Dos Equis Lager, Bell’s, Two Hearted Ale and many more. Beer lovers will not want to miss this fun-filled evening of sampling beers, talking with beer experts and supporting the FIA.

Each guest will receive five tasting tickets and a commemorative tasting glass at check-in. Advanced reservations are $20 and $25 at the door. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased for $1.00 each.

For no additional cost, enjoy tasty beer cuisine such as mini-brats and pulled-pork sandwiches provided by Redwood Catering. Rock the night away with the popular local musical group Eastern Standard Time.

The FIA will once again partner with John P. O’Sullivan Distributing, Inc. and Fabiano Brothers, Inc. on this event. All proceeds from the event benefit programming and exhibitions at the Flint Institute of Arts.

A new addition to this year’s event is a Blue Moon Beer muralist creating an onsite work of art. Guests may enter for a chance to win the design. Raffle tickets may be purchased during the event—1 for $5 or 3 for $10.

The Flint Institute of Arts is located just two blocks off I-475 in the Flint Cultural Center between the University of Michigan-Flint and Mott Community College. Museum hours are Monday-Wednesday and Friday 12-5 p.m.; Thursday 12-9 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sun 1-5 p.m.

There is a charge for non-members to the exhibition. Saturdays are Target Free, and as a Blue Star Museum, military families will receive free admission from Memorial Day through Labor Day. — G.G.
