Bicyclist critically injured in hit and run

FLINT TWP. — On Monday, August 8, at approximately 3:19 pm, the Flint Township Police Department responded to the area of Dutcher St. and Taft Rd. for a personal injury crash involving a bicyclist, according to a press release. The bicyclist, a 54 male Flint Township resident, was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

During a review of surveillance cameras in the area, a vehicle described as a dark-colored SUV was observed traveling northbound on Dutcher St. around the time of the crash. It is unknown from the video if this vehicle collided with the bicyclist, or may have witnessed what happened to the bicyclist. The owner/ driver of this vehicle is urged to contact the Flint Township Police Department.
