The 3rd Annual Bikes for Trykes – set for Saturday, June 18 – is a community-based charity fun run where people ride to get others a ride. All event proceeds go to purchase custom hand and/or foot therapy tricycles for local special needs children and disabled veterans. Participation costs $20 per ride, which includes registration, a T-shirt (first 300 registered), breakfast and entry for the Classic Rock party at Shiawassee Harley-Davidson. Sponsors include 103.9 The Fox, Shiawassee Harley-Davidson, A Hero’s Legacy, JP O’Sullivan, Deet’s BBQ, Dort Federal Event Center, and more. Pre-register online at www.2stepshigher.com or in person at Shiawassee Harley-Davidson. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Circus Park in Clio. Breakfast will be provided. The 120-mile ride will go through parts of Genesee and Shiawassee counties, ending in Birch Run at Shiawassee Harley- Davidson, with a beer tent and concert. Event organizers are hoping to raise enough money to provide one disabled veteran and 43 spe- cial needs children with bikes.
