BURTON — The 6th Annual Bikes on the Bricks presented by Vehicle City Harley-Davidson will be Sept. 15-16, in downtown Flint.
According to a press release, this motorcycle event includes the only certified police competition in Michigan.
The event includes vendors, police skills competition, a fashion show, a police escorted ride, a tattoo contest and a motorcycle show.
Money raised from the police escorted ride will go toward local charities within the community, such as the Old Newsboys.
Police officers from Canada, Ohio, Illinois and Michigan are scheduled to attend.
These officers are here on the bricks to perform in a certified skills competition.
On Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., attendees can watch the police officers practice, register for the motorcycle ride and receive this year’s merchandise.
Forest Cycle Works, Top End Cycle, Vehicle City Harley-Davidson and Scooters Bar and Grill are designated locations for pre-registration before Sept. 15.
Registration is $10 for a rider and $5 passenger. Day of ride is $10 for a rider and $10 for a passenger.
On Sept. 15, the police escorted ride will leave from Vehicle City Harley- Davidson, off I-75 and Miller Road on Austin Parkway in Flint. Registration will be 9-11 a.m. Bikes leave at 11 a.m. The ride should arrive downtown around 1 p.m.
South Saginaw Street in downtown Flint is scheduled to be closed off on Sept. 16 for a free motorcycle show.
The winner of the show will be the featured motorcycle for the following year’s advertisements as well as a feature at all Bikes on the Bricks show promotions. The Tattoo Contests will be happening at Almighty Tattoo’s vendor site located at Kearsley and South Saginaw Street.
The Fashion Show will be held on Saginaw Street at 12:30 p.m.
Attendees don’t have to ride a motorcycle to attend.
