HIt and run driver sought
FLINT TWP. — Police are looking for a suspect who rear-ended an ambulance then damaged a second vehicle before abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot.
The incident happened on Feb. 20 at about 5 p.m. on Ballenger Highway south of Miller Road. Police reports describe the suspect as driving a 1982 GMC brown pickup truck. The ambulance was slowing down in response to a call when it was struck. The suspect then backed up down the street a few hundred feet before striking a second car resulting in front-end damage. He then jumped out of the truck and fled. He was described as a white male in his early 30s of medium height with facial hair and wearing a Carharttstyle coat.
Jewelry snatcher at the mall
FLINT TWP. — An employee at a jewelry kiosk at Genesee Valley mall reported to police a customer fled after snatching two necklaces he was being shown. Police responded to the complaint at about 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 22. Security video shows a black male suspect, about 15-years-old and wearing a blue coat and black pants. He took off running out of the mall and has not been apprehended.
Fake checks cashed
FLINT TWP. — Police are investigating a complaint from an apartment complex on Flushing Road someone is making counter feit copies of their payroll checks. Two separate checks were cashed at an Oakland County bank. Video has been obtained of the bank transaction and police are following up on identifying the suspect.
Fake bills at gas station
FLINT TWP. — A cashier at an area gas station notified police at about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 22 when a customer used a fake $10 bill to pay for gas. The customer waited to talk to police and said the bill had been obtained from a party store in the city of Flint. The bill in question was confiscated and will be turned over to the Secret Service to determine if it will take over the investigation. — Compiled by Rhonda S. Sanders
