Mall employee arrested for embezzlement
FLINT TWP. — Police are seeking a warrant for a 19-year-old Flint man, employed at Genesee Valley Center, on charges of conspiracy to commit retail fraud. It was reported to police at about 3 p.m. on March 21 that the suspect had been caught exchanging or providing gift cards to acquaintances who would later exchange them for cash. He was arrested.
No known suspects in commercial burglary
FLINT TWP. — Police received a report at about 1:30 a.m. on March 19 from employees of a business in the 3400 block of Arlene. They had found two people who had broken into a fencedin parking lot and were breaking into vehicles. The suspects fled. They were described as being of average height and wearing black pants and black hooded sweatshirts. Some damage was found inside the parked vehicles.
Driver of stolen vehicle arrested on several charges
FLINT TWP. — On March 2 at about 11:45 p.m. an officer on patrol heard a broadcast to be on the lookout for a stolen vehicle. At about 12:15 a.m. the officer spotted a vehicle matching the description on Fenton Road, south of Bristol. He attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver of the vehicle fled into the city of Flint, breaking several traffic laws. Ultimately, he was arrested after running into the police car and subsequently resisting arrest. A 36-year-old Flushing man was arrested, lodged at the county jail and charged with felonious fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, assault on an officer, assault with a dangerous weapon and driving with a suspended license.
