FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees voted Jan. 22 to purchase four new Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles – two for patrol and two for administration – to replace high mileage vehicles in the fleet. The board also approved the additional cost to outfit them as police vehicles and to put two new radar units into the patrol vehicles. The total cost is $171,336.60 and is budgeted for 2019.
Police Chief Kevin Salter said the fullsize all-wheel drive Tahoe outperforms two-wheel drive vehicles and can endure the deteriorating roadways in the community. — G.G.
