— Carman- Ainsworth High School will welcome a familiar face to its leadership. Jeff Dompreh was hired as the new assistant principal at the high school, receiving unanimous approval at the Sept. 21 Board of Education meeting.
Supt. Bill Haley brought the personnel item to the board, saying the district was searching for someone who would “engage students and work with all levels of learners and engage parents.”
Trustee Recco Richardson commented to the board on conversations he had with Haley on the assistant principal vacancy. Richardson said there were talks of “being creative with the position” and the process was “well thought out.”
“We have the best candidate on our side,” he said of Dompreh.
Dompreh has been with the district since 1998, starting at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School then moving to the high school. He served as the secondary reading interventionist coach. Haley said that all the progress made by Dompreh in that capacity would continue this year, and not taper off with Dompreh not in that role.
His appointment as assistant principal is effective immediately.
