FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees Tuesday approved spending an additional $40,706 to extend the Southgate Drive project by 100 feet.
The Genesee County Road Commission awarded Zito Construction the bid to repair a cross tube, several catch basins and concrete on Southgate Drive. The GCRC used a Community Development Block Grant of $61,294 to fund that portion of the project.
Township Supervisor Karyn Miller said the 2019 budget has $58,000 in the general fund for road repairs to supplement CDBG funds. Adding the 100-foot extension would bring the total cost of the project to $102,000 to repair River Forest and Southgate drives. Zito Construction also will complete the extension work.
