Bowlers’ title hopes dimmed with loss



SANFORD — Carman-Ainsworth’s title hopes in the Saginaw Valley League boys’ bowling race took a blow last Saturday in an 18.5-11.5 loss to Bay City Western at Northern Lanes. The Cavaliers fell to third place at 7-2, two games behind Davison with three to play.

Jordan Nunn, who has the second highest average in the league at 221.6, led the Cavs with a 246 game. Milton Gibson added a 221, Jordan Bair 206, Masen Ancira 198, Robbie Wheeler 196 and Wanya Montgomery 190.

The girls’ team also saw its title hopes dimmed, falling to 6-3. The Lady Cavs are only two games out of first place, but there are four teams ahead of them. Caity Cox had a 173-189 series, while Molly Doty and Jacquelynn Davis each rolled a 198.

Carman-Ainsworth will bowl Flint Powers Catholic next Monday at B’s Bowling. – D.N.
