Kidney support group to meet

FLINT — On March 16, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, 302 Kensington, in Flint, the Kidney Cancer Educational Support Group will meet. Frank Friedman, director of the group, will give an update on kidney cancer and show related videos. The group is open to the general public. Sweet Adelines seeking singers

DAVISON TWP. — Song of the Lakes Sweet Adelines Chorus of Davison is seeking female singers for membership openings. Women of all ages who love to sing, perform and are interested in improving their vocal skills are invited. Come and receive free vocal lessons. Rehearsals are at the Davison Senior Center, 10135 Lapeer Rd., in Davison Township, Monday nights from 7-10 p.m.

New exhibit opens at the Sloan Museum

FLINT — The newest exhibit at Sloan Museum entitled “Martin Luther King and Fair Housing in Flint” continues through Feb. 28. In the 1960s, Flint was as involved in the issues and passions of the Civil Rights movement as was the rest of the United States. Intended for all ages, this exhibit showcases the efforts of Martin Luther King and the debate over fair housing in Flint.

McLaren offers weight loss solutions

FLINT — McLaren’s Nutrition Counseling Program is offering “Weight Loss-Controlling Your Weight through Diet and Exercise.” This series of five, one-hour classes will cover the following topics: the food guide pyramid, physical activity, portion control, grocery shopping/food labels, and fast food/eating out. The cost for the series of classes is $35.

This classes are being offered from 9-10 a.m. on Mondays at the McLaren Diabetes Education Program Dept., located at 3200 Beecher Rd. in the Beech Hill Center building. Registration is required.

Cornerstone Rehab offers support group, screenings
