Madge and Gert’s Festive Friday
FLINT TWP. — Madge and Gert’s Festive Friday returns from 3-8 p.m. Nov. 12 at UAW Local 659, 4549 Van Slyke Rd.
The free event features approximately 30 vendors including Madge and Gert Soy Candles, Tastefully Simple, Miche Bags, Hilltop Soaps, Shaklee, Alma Hill Breads, Silpada, Tupperware, Hot Mama’s Salsa, Ladybug Bow-tique, MAM Designs and Switch Bakery. In addition to shopping, attendees can visit the Silly Picture Corner and the first 100 attendees receive a free gift. Special coupons will be available for the night.

Sweet display at the Sloan Museum
FLINT — “The Sweet Side” is a display at the Sloan Museum, 1221 E. Kearsley St., about the history of candy shops, bakeries and “sweet” shops in Flint. Even adults feel like kids in a candy shop, so the exhibit is for all ages.

McLaren offering heart health, cholesterol and blood pressure help
FLINT — McLaren’s Nutrition Counseling Program is now offering “Heart Health-Controlling Your Cholesterol and Blood Pressure.” Have you been told that your cholesterol or blood pressure is high? Do you have a family history of heart disease? Do you want to learn how to prevent heart disease and be healthier? If you can answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions this class can help. Meal planning tips and recipes will be provided.
This class is being offered, from 10 a.m. to Noon, on the following Fridays: Nov. 12 and Dec. 10 at the McLaren Diabetes Education Program Dept., located at 3200 Beecher Rd in the Beech Hill Center building. The class fee is $30 and registration is required.
