A construction crew has been actively working in the cold at a Consumer’s Energy substation on Lennon Road at Utley Road. The project is a planned replacement of a transformer bank and other substation equipment at the substation, with the goal of improving reliability, said Kyle McCree. Community Affairs Area Manager Improving reliability means reducing the likelihood of a service interruption. The substation serves part of the Miller Road commercial corridor in Flint Township (but not as far west as the mall) and stretches east and north to serve part of the west side of the City of Flint.
