FLINT TWP. — As construction of a traffic roundabout continues on Bristol Road near I -75, Michigan Department of Transportation work crews have laid down ramp construction on the south side of Bristol Road and are now moving to the north side of the road.
As a result, beginning at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, MDOT planned to close the northbound I-75 entrance ramp at Bristol Road for 14 days, to accommodate reconstruction of the north side of the roundabout, according to a press release. This two-week closure is part of an overall $3 million investment to mitigate traffic congestion and improve motorist safety. It is adjacent to a General Motors plant entrance.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour: westbound Bristol Road to eastbound I-69, back to northbound I-75. Additional phases of construction and expected traffic impact will be posted as the project progresses. Oct. 22 is the initially announced target completion date for the roundabout.
