Bristol Road roundabout construction enters final phase

FLINT TWP. — On Tuesday, September 27, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) was scheduled to reopen the northbound I-75 ramp at Bristol Road and begin constructing the inside lanes of Bristol Road. Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed roundabout. This work is part of a $3 million investment to construct a roundabout on Bristol Road adjacent to I-75 and the General Motors plant entrance to mitigate congestion and improve motorist safety.

Motorists are reminded to adhere to all traffic signs, yielding to oncoming vehicles already in the roundabout before entering. Workers may also be present in the center of the roundabout; drivers are advised to use additional caution where workers are present. The Bristol Road project began in early July and is expected to be completed in November. — R.S.
