FLINT TWP. — In the week leading up to Easter, many area kids embarked on the first-ever Bunny Trail scavenger hunt in search of cool prizes.
The Bunny Trail, presented by Discover Flint Township and the Flint Township Economic Development Corporation (EDC), took place from March 19 to 26. All week long, kids and their families had the chance to register for a chance to win gift baskets and other prizes at multiple businesses throughout Flint Township.
Around a thousand people registered for the Bunny Trail and 35 businesses participated as “Bunny Stops”—from big box stores to small businesses and everything from restaurants to flower shops. Over 260 prizes were given away, including 12 bikes and numerous gift baskets from participating businesses.
Some grand prize winners received a special delivery from Officer John Chisa with the Flint Township Police Department and the Easter Bunny. Other winners picked up their prizes at Flint Township Hall or at participating businesses after the Bunny Trail concluded.
Kids who participated in the Bunny Trail also received a candy-filled egg at each store or business that they registered with. Families could locate each participating business by viewing an interactive Bunny Trail map on the Flint Township Events Facebook page and flinttownship.org.
Discover Flint Township, the township’s official marketing campaign, held kickoff events for the Bunny Trail at Flint Bishop International Airport, U-Haul at Miller and Ballenger roads and Shea Buick- GMC. Flint Township also partnered with Banana 101.5, 103.9 the Fox and Cars 108 to hold remote promotional events for the Bunny Trail at several local businesses.
Flint Township wishes to extend a special thanks to all businesses that participated in the Bunny Trail and to the sponsors who made the event possible, including: HAP, Dort Federal Credit Union, Corki’s Dream, Shea Automotive Group, U-Haul and Flint Bishop International Airport.
