Burtucky Days 2021 kicks off Sept. 16

BURTON — Burtucky Days are happening again this year at the Captain’s Quarters Lounge, 6011 E. Atherton Rd., Sept. 16.

The bar and restaurant, located at the corner of Belsay and Atherton roads, is again hosting its annual event.

It starts Sept. 16 with a parade leaving Blessed Sacrament Church, 6340 Roberta St., at 5 p.m. heading up to Lapeer Road and south on Belsay Road to the Captains Quarters Lounge.

There is a $5 donation wristband charge good for the whole weekend event, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Old Newsboys of Flint.

“Over the years we have raised over tens of thousands of dollars for the Old Newboys,” said Greg Benjamin, owner of the Captain’s Quarters Lounge.

There will be live music all weekend long with the band Soul’d Out on Thursday and Friday and the Blue Hawaiians Saturday. Under the tent all weekend is Billy Gunther and the Midwest Riders.

Twisted Jerky will be serving up and arrangement of food all weekend long. There will also be vendors for you to stop by and shop while you’re here.

They will be having a Roadkill Café, Saturday starting at 3 p.m. — G.G.
