Weight loss contest

— FitZone for Women is rewarding hard work, even in tough economic times. Laurie and Mark Alli, owners of three FitZone for Women clubs in Grand Blanc, Livonia and Waterford, are running a weight loss challenge between the gyms.

The biggest weight loss loser will win $5,000. It has been a six-week challenge and the contestants have really been working hard. Our T-shirts for the challenge read “IN IT TO WIN IT.”

The program includes weekly personal training sessions, daily food journaling, weekly weigh-ins, healthy menu plans and best of all, the support of the staff. A winner will be announced at an Enchanted Evening Party on Oct. 29 from 7-10 p.m. Along with the first prize of $5,000, the top 15 winners will also receive a cash prize.

The party will offer: free massages, Mary Kay Makeovers & Footbaths, Perfect Eyebrow, Swiss Just Aroma Therapy, and light appetizers and spirits. —


Woodfield announces management position

— The Captain’s Club at Woodfield announces an addition to its management staff.

Kari Stevens, who joined the team in April as a Sales Assistant, has been promoted to Assistant Sales and Events Coordinator, specializing in inside sales, weddings and coordinating events/banquets. Stevens, a Stevensville native, has worked as a Bridal and Marketing Manager in St. Joseph and Kalamazoo, Michigan and a Consultant at David’s Bridal in Flint before coming to Woodfield. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in communications, specializing in public relations.

Woodfield is home to Captain’s Club — an 18-hole Ray Floyd Designed Signature Golf Course; Floyd’s Restaurant and banquet facilities, which seat up to three hundred people and specialize in corporate events, banquets and weddings. Details: Visit the

Harvest Auction breakfast

— A Harvest Auction community business breakfast is Nov. 3 at 7:30 a.m. All baskets will be auctioned off to benefit Davison High School scholarships.

Come in and have a good time out bidding the others. A great time to start your Christmas shopping. The auction takes place at the Davison Country Club, 9512 Lippincott Blvd. There is a prize for the person who brings the most friends. Cost is $5 for membe, $7 non-members.
