Princinsky receives award

— Dr. Julianne Princinsky was recently named the winner of the 2010 Distinguished Leadership Award by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Michigan program.

“Dr. Princinsky is one of the great leaders in our community,” said Tim Herman, Regional Chamber CEO. “She serves as chairman of our Operating Board of Directors and on many other boards and important committees in the community. Most importantly, her commitment to Flint and Genesee County is an inspiration to me and to many others who work day-in-and-day-out to move our community forward.”

Gas prices rise

— Average retail gasoline prices in Michigan rose 3.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.69 per gallon. This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.69 per gallon, according to The national average has decreased 5.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 9.4 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago. — G.G.

McLaren Health Plan welcomes new sales executive

— John Rogus of Grand Rapids has joined McLaren Health Plan as a sales executive. Rogus previously served as a sales executive for Humana and brings more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry. He attended Central Michigan University and earned a degree in business administration/marketing.
