How to write a business plan

FLINT — A Fundamentals of Writing a Business Plan seminar will be presented by Region 6 Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) based at Kettering University,on Jan. 17, 9 a.m. to noon in the Campus Center at the corner of University and Chevrolet Avenues in Flint.

For startup businesses, a pre-requisite to this course is attending the free “Fundamentals of Starting a Business” workshop that is offered 2-3 times each month.

The business plan seminar covers the specifics of business planning including market research, marketing, finance, legal, operations, and management. Tools and steps for creating a business plan draft will be included.

“Meet the Executives”

FLINT — “Meet the Executives”, hosted by the Genesee Regional Young Professionals (GRYP), is a chance for young professionals in the community to connect with executives in Genesee County and surrounding areas.

The panel of executives will provide insight in how they became executives in their industry. They will also discuss the importance of networking and how they developed contacts throughout their careers.

Meet the Executive panel includes: John Matonich, President and CEO of ROWE Professional Services Company; Phil Shaltz, Entrepreneur and Owner of Shaltz Fluid Power; and Dr. Julianne Princinsky, President of Baker College of Flint

Following the event the will be a mixer to network with the panel members and other young professionals. The event is Jan 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Baker College of Flint, Technology Building, Rooms S128 and S130, 1050 W. Bristol Rd. The cost is free for GRYP members; $10 for non-members.
