McLaren Health Plan welcomes Rogus as sales executive

— John Rogus of Grand Rapids has joined McLaren Health Plan as a sales executive. Rogus previously served as a sales executive for Humana and brings over 20 years of experience in the health care industry. He attended Central Michigan University and earned a degree in business administration/marketing.

Leadership Genesee now accepting applications for 2010-11.

— Want to develop your leadership skills and discover all the amazing resources available in Genesee County? Leadership Genesee, a program of Resource Genesee, may just be for you!

The early-bird registration deadline for Resource Genesee’s 2010-11 Class of Leadership Genesee is Sept. 1. Until that time, applicants will be eligible for the early-bird tuition rate of $1,000. After Sept. 1, the tuition rate increases to $1,200. Several partial scholarships are available.

The final date to apply for Leadership Genesee is Oct. 13. The 2010-11 program begins with an orientation on Oct. 14.

Annually, Leadership Genesee recruits 35-40 upand coming leaders from the public, nonprofit and business sectors within Genesee County. During full-day program sessions held once a month from October through May, participants learn more about their community’s assets, opportunities, challenges and current leadership structure. Participants also learn about their own leadership styles while networking with their classmates. Any person who lives or works in Genesee County is welcome to apply.
