Businesses gearing up to offer daily deals to help support C-A programs

FLINT TWP. — At least 500 families are hoped for to sign up by March 30 for Community Link Online, a new “daily deal” website that will save families money and support good causes.

The online fundraising initiative is being organized by the Carman-Ainsworth Education Foundation. a nonprofit established to support students, staff, and community programs.

Businesses will soon be posting savings vouchers on the website in anticipation of the site launch on March 30.

To participate, families will need to go to the web site www.communitylinkonline.org/coming/index.html to sign up to receive e-mails about specials and other offers.

Community Link is described as a simple three-step process.

First, l local businesses will place deals on Community Link Online for purchase. For example, a deal might be 2 large pizzas for $10.

In step two, participants can purchase the deal via the website and redeem the voucher at the local business or give it as a gift.

In the final step, the business will get 55 percent of the money and the rest will be split 50/50 between a school group chosen by the purchaser and the C-A Education Foundation.

School groups currently signed up to receive proceeds include the Carman- Ainsworth Band & Orchestra Boosters, the Carman-Ainsworth Football Parents Club and the Carman-Ainsworth Robotics Programs.

These groups and other volunteers represent current “sales ambassadors,” but more school groups and volunteers are expected to be added soon, according to an announcement on the C-A website.

To get involved in Community Link Online and help support causes for students, please contact the Carman- Ainsworth Education Foundation at sales@communitylinkonline.org.
