FLINT TWP. — A busy time is ahead for the Carman-Ainsworth Education Foundation which is planning three fundraisers over the next few months.
The first is the 3rd Annual CAEF Silent Auction and Raffle, to be held 5:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, April 28 at the Flushing Valley Country Club, 1124 E. Main Street in Flushing For tickets, which are $25, RSVP to Lisa Murphy at the CA Administration Building. Contact her at 810-591-8246.
Honorees are Lisa Koegel, a C-A board member and parent; Bonnie Haffajee, a retired principal and Benjy Jones, C-AHS band director. Each is being recognized for “continuously and unselfishly (giving) their time, talents, and support for the good of (the) students, families, staff, and greater school community.”
The evening includes a buffet dinner and cash bar. Hundreds of valuable and unique items including golf packages, gas cards, sports memorabilia and gift baskets, will be offered in the auction and raffle. The next upcoming CAEF event will be a Book Fair to be held at Barnes and Noble book store at Genesee Valley Center mall, on Saturday, June 17. CAEF will receive 15% from every purchase in-store or on-line during that day.
The third upcoming event will be the inaugural CAEF “On the Green” Golf Scramble to be held at the Flint Golf Club on Monday, July 24. More information will be provided closer to the date of the event.
The CAEF is a non-profit organization formed to raise funds to innovative learning opportunities for C-A students. CAEF donated $8,500 in scholarships to the C-A STEM & DEEP dual enrollment programs for 2016- 17. Similar amounts were donated in recent years. — R.S.
