C-A’s Men at W.O.R.K. hosting 10th holiday event




MUNDY TWP. — WinterFest, the tenth annual holiday charity event, will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 at the Carman-Ainsworth Middle School cafeteria, 1409 W. Maple Road.

It is hosted by Men at W.O.R.K., a father’s group formed in 2000 by a group of young fathers wanting to spend more quality time in activities with their children.

WinterFest 2017 activities will include a toy for each child, pictures with Santa, a book for each child (compliments of the Carr Cares Foundation/Brandon Carr/Baltimore Ravens), Cookie Decoration, and Face Painting. There will also be free doughnuts, coffee, and hot chocolate compliments of Tim Horton’s/Don Andrews.

Entertainment will be an array of holiday music provided by Dye, Rankin, and Randels elementary schools; the C/A Middle School and High School choirs and musicians and an appearance by the Flint Arrowhead Chorus (Barbershop Quartet) and a Magician.

Admission is free but each person attending is asked for a donation of the following:

* a non-perishable food item

*a gently used coat

* an unwrapped toy

* a monetary donation

Donations will support the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Salvation Army, U.S. Marines “Toys for Tots” and the Old Newsboys.

Thousands attend Winterfest each year. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
