FLINT TWP. — Many versions have been told of the fairytale “Cinderella,’’ the beautiful but mistreated girl who was transformed by a fairy godmother and married a prince after her foot fits his glass slipper. Yet another original version of the story will be presented by the Carman- Ainsworth Drama Club coming up Nov. 17-19.
“ We’ve written our own script,’’ said DeLynne Miller, theater director. “ The kids and I have written the script from scratch.’’
Their twist on their story is that it takes place at Fairy University, she said. As a senior exit project, fairy students at the university are charged with turning poor Cinderella into a princess.
The plot goes through the ways the fairies try to change Cinderella and fail. Then it shows way they try and succeed.
Ultimately, they create a beautiful princess who wins her prince charming. Another happy ending is in store for the fairy students who earn their wings for their successful effort.
Show tickets are $6 each and will be sold at the door or can be purchased in advance at www.showtix4u.com.
