Calling all superheroes

5K to benefit Weiss Child Advocacy Center

FLINT — April 23 is the the race to end child abuse in Genesee County. Run, walk or FLY to the Flint Farmer’s Market and you can be a hero to the children in our community who need help.

Help run the town blue in the 5K run at 9 AM or untimed 1K Fun Run for kids and families at 10 a.m. Hundreds are expected to don their capes, masks or superhero costumes and help raise money for the Weiss Child Advocacy Center. The non-profit organization helps prevent child abuse and helps survivors become children again.

Heroes from our community will be on hand — like the police, prosecutors and child welfare workers who make a difference to children in our community every day. There will also be superhero guest appearances, princesses, a photo booth, music and lots of fun family activities.

The event will take place at the Weiss Advocacy Center, 9 a.m., at The Flint Farmer’s Market. — G.G.
